Many of the photographs here were the first of my career and filled my portfolio in the 60's.

An assistant's wages were low, but my boss JC made up for it by allowing free film, paper and use of the studio. I made the most of his generosity in the evenings when I would take shots for my portfolio and for the model girls who came to see us.

After a couple of trips to Milan with JC I decided to stay there shooting for Italian fashion magazines.

Web Design  For the time being I design my own websites and projects using Front Page. Purists may scoff, but time is a pressing factor in my life and I want to produce reasonably attractive results fast.

Technology  Photography itself was highly technical at the time.  For advertising and editorial the focus was on quality, which could only be achieved by adhering to minimum standards of equipment and procedure.

Flying Model Aircraft  This is an absorbing past time and a technical challenge.  Right up my street!  It deserves a page of it's own so I have created one here....

SpeedmasterOnline  This site has been developed from the horse racing software I founded in 1993 - Betting Manager.  When my own speed figures were introduced in 1995 this became Speedmaster.  Although I say it myself, this is the most powerful analytical software for UK horse racing anywhere on the Internet.  It is now run by two racing enthusiasts who have added systems forecast profit and loss to the programs capabilities.

Finally, the smarter way to play the UK Lottery and Euromillions too...

This website is
a tribute to the
wonderful 60's
when I had some
of the happiest
days of my life
as a photographer's
young assistant
in London.

I worked for
John Cowan, one
of the top fashion photographers.
of the time.
Clients included
Vogue, Queen,
and Harpers.
Locations
were from Devon
to Abu Dhabi.

The studio gained
fame in the 60's
when it was used
by Antonioni as
the location for
Blow Up, his
Cannes fesival
award winning film
starring David
Hemmings, Vanessa
Redgrave and
Sarah Miles.

To find out more
about this film
which typified the
period, Click here
for Blow Up
revisited and
choke on a big lump
of 60's nostalgia.
